Azuki put a hand up to block the lightning but pain filled her mind instantly. She stumbled backwards before falling over the edge of the building. Out of the line of fire, Azuki was able to focus again. Her breathing was heavy from the mental attack, but aside from that she was fine.
'Aww isn't that cute? Little Sith Lord Reku is mad.' To avoid being shocked again, Azuki decided to follow her Saiyan instincts. She flew through the wall of the building so she was directly beneath her opponent before flying up through the roof to 'sneak attack' Reku. Clearly he was not messing around.
------
As more time passed, the cops kept talking.
"Looks like the two are fighting each other now. Clear the civilians from the area ASAP, that building isn't gonna hold!"
The police sounded frantic, which worried Shadic even more. Maybe he should go help.
Reku growled as she sent off the edge, and that was when he let his guard down. Before he knew it, the ground collasped underneath him and Azuki was right on him. His widened, not expecting her do pull off something like this. He being sent into the air due to her sneak attack, he looked back down at her before firing several ki blasts.
Azuki did not allow Reku to go too far into the air, swooping past any ki blasts and the hybrid before sending an overhead spike at her opponent. She did so with enough force to send him flying through at least one floor of the building if not more. Her goal was to keep applying pressure so he could not attack with any of that lightning again. Assuming her attack connected, Azuki flew downwards in pace with Reku's fall, ready to attack again shortly thereafter.
In the surrounding area, police, paramedics, and firemen had arrived at the base of the building. The firefighters started evacuating the building as the police put up caution tape and zoned off the area. At least three squad cars and a whole fire crew were in the building. Various news stations had arrived on the scene to get footage for local and national news. Everybody who cared to see it could see the fight between Azuki and Reku taking place. In the skies, a police helicopter circled the location, giving the law enforcement some eyes in the skies. A news helicopter trailed the police chopper, getting footage for the public to see.
---------------------
One of the news reports had flicked onto Shadic's multi monitor computer, and the news reporter was speaking frantically, "What the police at first thought were accomplices turned out to be enemies," She said, looking up at the building before turning back to the camera, "It seems like the two beings are fighting directly above us."
More monitors turned on as more and more stations began covering the situation. The police radio and news anchors started mixing into one ambient sound; every single one pestering Shadic more and more. He was finally on the verge of a successful meditation and of course something had to happen.
Reku’s body was sent through two floors, crashing into the third. A light crater outline his body with Azuki basically still on top of him. “I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!” He exclaimed, moments before Azuki would be able to use her next attack, Reku unleashed a powerful explosive wave as he transformed into a super saiyan simultaneously. The entire build would be incinerated as well as anyone near the building, increasing the body count drastically. Even the helicopter close to the building may be moved a little, panicking the pilots inside.
Azuki did not expect the explosive wave, sending her up and out of the building. As Reku's energy exploded outwards, and increased twofold, the building itself followed suit. Aside from anything in Reku's immediate area, which was completely incinerated, the rest of the building fell apart and exploded in a wide radius, sending debris flying everywhere. A chunk of the building crushed one of the news anchors on live TV while another hit the propeller on one of the helicopters. That helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on a nearby rooftop before they could compensate for the lost propeller. Everybody else within the building was either vaporized or crushed by the explosion and anybody who had not yet been evacuated from the area was likely hit by some form of debris, large or small.
The crowd that had gathered stopped watching in awe and instead ran in fear, worried for what may happen next. Azuki had been blasted into the air by the explosive wave, but she regained her senses rather quickly. The ends of her hair were singed and her Saiyan armor was broken in the shoulder pads. Her tail waved about in the air as she retied it around her waist. She was shocked to see so much aggression from somebody who, she thought, wanted to protect the Earth. "What kind of hero are you? You just killed a hundred people, if not more!"
Azuki was well aware of Reku's powered-up state, something that slightly bothered her. She was now weaker in power, substantially so, but it was against her nature to flee. Plus, Azuki could not allow Reku to get away with this. She may not have any connection to Earth personally, but she knew killing innocents was just wrong.
She was completely outmatched, but one thing she had going for her was her true training opposed to Reku's weak Earth training. Knowing she was his target, Azuki stayed put in the sky, looking down at the demolished structure and the hybrid floating above it. She was ready, now he just needed to attack.
Off in the distance, another airbound vehicle flew by. This one had superior cameras to the other helicopters despite being a good two, three miles away. It zoomed in on the action, streaming live footage straight back to the biggest monitor on Shadic's computer. This is because the aircraft was in fact the new Brotherhood Jet that Shadic and Tadeo managed to nab. It had just arrived on the scene, its autopilot sensing Reku and Azuki's battle as a high-level threat.
-----------
Shadic's computer started beeping, signalling that this event was a red-alert. The hybrid finally gave in, breaking his concentration to see what in the world was going on. And something was going on alright. The news station whose reporters was crushed by debris replayed the building being destroyed while everybody else was in a hurried panic. All the other news broadcasters made their way out of harms way and inside their vans, with some even leaving the scene. The news helicopter had been hit, preventing it from getting any more footage. 911 operators were busy with conversation with many people frantically calling to see if their loved ones were okay.
"Oh no." Shadic said as he examined the scene, realizing he had passed on being a hero to try and be some sort of monk. None of the news stations had a good view of the two fighters, and none of the police were giving a solid description of them, but that's where the Brotherhood jet came in handy. Shadic sat down at the computer and manually controlled the camera, panning so he could see who the culprit was.
Floating above the demolished building was none other than his friend Reku, who seemed pissed off and in Super Saiyan form. The hybrid seemed to be glaring up at somebody, so Shadic zoomed out slightly to get a view of the entire battle. Above Reku was another Saiyan, and another one of Shadic's friends, Azuki. The two seemed to be fighting recklessly, indicated by the now demolished building, and neither one seemed to care too much about the well-being of the humans. There was potentially a third party Shadic did not know about, which was what he hoped, but the odds were unlikely.
The hybrid rolled his office chair back slightly as he got to his feet, calling his hammer over while also taking off out of the Oasis. Right now Shadic was not too focused on stopping Reku and Azuki's (and whoever else's) battle. Rather, his first priority was making sure the people of Earth were safe.
Reku ignored the slaughter he alone had created, seemingly not caring. He instead flew towards Azuki, who was now in the air, as fast as he could, filled with absolute rage. “I’m no hero! The lives of weaklings mean nothing to me! I will put you in your place, or die trying!” Reku exclaimed, throwing two ki blasts when he got close before blinking to her right side, attempting to slam a fist into her jaw hard enough to send her flying. If this succeeded, he would fly after her, closing the gap before punching her with the same force again, this time with the opposite hand.
Shadic didn't have all of his newly acquired tech set up yet, so in the field he was basically blind. Still, he knew something was going on and that he had to stop it. Until he could do that, nobody was safe. When he was just a few miles outside the city, Shadic threw his hammer with all his might towards the city.
He had aligned himself so the hammer would fly directly above the streets of the city without causing any property damage, and if he timed it just right...
---------
Azuki readied herself for Reku's charge, deflecting one of the ki blasts and blocking the other. His power had increased substantially; those ki blasts almost felt as powerful as his explosive wave. Reku disappeared, and because he was slightly faster than her, managed to land his attack and the follow-up.
The second hit ((im assuming)) sent Azuki spiraling downwards. She slammed into a gargoyle on the way down, which was in turn knocked off the building. It plummeted downwards, threatening to crush a crowd of people.
Of course, because Shadic has been doing this for a while, his hammer flew in and slayed the gargoyle statue, shattering it to little pebbles rather than a crushing machine. The hammer continued on down the street, since it was thrown with so much force.
Azuki did not see what became of the gargoyle as she was too focused on readying herself for Reku's next attack.
Reku had ignored the gargoyle, which had seemingly disappeared just as fast it appeared. He chased after Azuki with a ki blast in hand, throwing it at her to keep her on her feet. He flew as fast as he could towards her, anxious to destroy her. He was filled with the desire to kill and nothing else, craving revenge. When he reached her, he’d try to elbow her in the face to send her staggering in order to follow up with a gut punch that would commence the Turtle Strike technique.
Azuki was hurting, but she wasn't done with this fight yet. As Reku approached, she blocked the ki blast before seeing Reku moving extremely fast towards her. She did not have much time, but she did manage to narrowly jumping out of Reku's path. Getting hit by that elbow would have been bad enough, but getting hit by the elbow through a building would have just been brutal. However, in her effort to avoid Reku, her lower leg did get caught in harm's way. Effectively, Azuki tried to kick Reku who was traveling at full speed.
Assuming he did not stop in time, pain shot through Azuki's leg from the force Reku collided with. Her leg felt hot, as if some sort of sprain or potential fracture had occured. She did know how to react to this new injury, but she could not let Reku see her weakness.
Azuki hopped into the air, a place where dangling her leg is not abnormal, and fired a ki blast towards Reku. Then she flew in after him, ready to dodge whatever was coming next.
--------
News reporters and police officers alike were doing their best to contain the action and protect the innocent. A new building was being used as a battleground, meaning new people were in danger. While a new firecrew, who had come in from a small town nearby, worked to evacuate the building, Shadic followed suit.
The hybrid flew in a window near the top, flying in and out as he grabbed two or three civilians at a time. He could not allow another building full of people to be destroyed.
Reku wasn’t stopping, but barreling through that leg felt like running into a wall. He hit the ground, hard enough that the street below was forced inward, forming a crater. As he got up, he was a dazed, wanting to take a moment to collect himself. It would seem that this would not be the case as a ki blast slammed into his back, causing him to grunt in pain. His rage intensified as he looked back at his opponent who was coming fast. Reku's dark aura flared up as he flew after her as well. He would attempt to spear Azuki in the gut before kicking her away into another building.
