“HA!” Okora yelled as he fired a ki blast into the wall of a mountain in the rocky wasteland. He was in the middle of training, trying to become stronger for his endgame. He continuously fired a barrage of ki blasts, trying to bring the mountain itself down. He was training his stamina as well as the strength of his own ki energy. That was the area he was lacking in the most, and wanted to work on it for future battles. The sound of exploding rock and the vibrations of the the two forces colliding ran throughout the area. His white, fierce aura surrounded his body and continued as forced the output of energy from his body to his target.
Shadic lay in his oasis staring at the stone 'ceiling' above. A thought just struck him that he was very possibly thr only hero actively capable of protecting the planet. Reku had been erratic lately, Big Shot was nowhere to be seen, and everybody else was too weak to even stand a chance. Nexon's memory problems made him vulnerable and Sonnelion's intentions were unclear to Shadic. After Sythius' acceptance speech was interrupted by the terrorist attack, the planet's vulnerability was more blatant than ever.
He sighed as he turned on his side. Then there's the possibility that his heightened power, while undetectable by anybody he knew, could be detected from malicious beings planets or even galaxies away. If that was the case, even being present on Earth was a threat, since it put a huge target on the place.
While he wanted to keep thinking, so he could eventually come to a conclusion on what to do, a loud noise broke his concentration. Shadic sat up, listenin to the crumbling rocks. At first he was worried the mountain of his oasis was being attacked, but he quickly realized the sound was not that close.
He scrambled to his feet, worried some extraterrestrial decided to pay a visit. Shadic took to the air, making his way out of the oasis and high into the sky. There did not seem to be any aliens threatening the extinction of humanity, but there was somebody trying to topple a mountain.
Shadic approached cautiously. The guy appeared to be a Saiyan, judging by his hair, so he could also be hostile. To make his greeting more friendly than anything else, Shadic spoke in his usual friendly tone, after getting within speaking range obviously, "That's an interesting training regime you got there. Not sure what that's training for ya, or how, but I won't judge."
He looked at the man attacking the mountain, not recognizing him in the slightest. Another new guy he'd have to keep his eye on, to make sure he didn't become the next big bad menace.
“Hm?" Okora stopped as he instantly looked back at the man behind him as he spoke. The sudden voice scared the dazes out of him, as he didn’t hear any prior noises of someone approaching due to his screaming and the sound of his ki blasts hitting their mark. He couldn’t sense his energy either, which was another thing that made him curious. His facial expression relaxed, no longer being tense from the frightening moment. He sighed, crossing his arms and looking at, what appeared to be, a wanderer. Okora sized him up. He looked strong, but anyone could do that. Actually being strong was a whole different story. He didn’t look that much older than him, probably around his own age. Okora, still keeping the comment that this stranger made in mind, responded. ”And who are you supposed to be?"
Shadic looked at his clothes to make sure he wasn't wearing anything strange. In his mind, he thought, 'Well, gee, I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be. What an odd question.' Okora's greeting was unusual and a little standoffish, but the hybrid wasn't worried about it. If the guy wanted a fight, he'd quickly understand who Shadic was supposed to be.
He scratched the back of his head before responding to Okora's question, "Well, uh, I think I'm supposed to be Shadic. Unless something happened overnight to change that. I just noticed your attack on this mountain and wanted to comment on it. Also, just so you know, the proper way to greet somebody is by asking, 'Who are you?' and not, 'Who are you supposed to be?' I'll just use this as an example, okay?" Shadic cleared his throat before asking, "Hello stranger, who are you and what're ya doin?"
Okora did not look very intimidating, but then again, nobody looked intimidating to Shadic. He did have to say, somebody who was willing to take down a mountain automatically earned his respect. They were no joke.
“I could do without the sarcasm, thank you very much." Okora replied, despite being the one to caused said sarcasm to take place by being rude. He turned around to face the mountain once more, a ball of ki forming in each of his hands. ”My name is Okora, and I’m trying to take down this mountain. The strength of my energy blasts need a little bit of work and I wanted to keep my stamina up to the standard as well. I decided to do both." As he prepared to fire again, he couldn’t help but wish he had someone who could help him train. As much as he hated to admit it, training alone was not as profitable as sparring with another.
"Mountain destroying is a good place to start for both of those. Helps you figure out a good balance between power and stamina, which are important in a fight. How have we not met before?" Okora, who was only about 30% of Shadic's base power, still had a substantial amount of power. It seemed unlikely that they had been on Earth for any substantial amount of time without ever crossing each other's paths, but crazier things had happened.
"If I were you, which I'm not, but I was in a similar position to you a while ago, I'd recommend training in the desert. Scorching temperatures over 120 degrees every day, freezing cold in the night, limited water and food. That really emphasizes the importance of stamina. There was also a bandit group I put a stop to during my desert training, but it was useful nonetheless. Oh, and try training on other planets, too. I don't know where you're from, or where you've been, but a lot of other planets have special techniques that most Earthlings and Saiyans don't know." He'd never really given anybody advice on how to improve before, so this was a different experience to say the least. Anybody willing to train was alright in his book, especially if they were willing to take some advice along the way.
“Heh. That actually sounds like a good idea." Okora replied, actually becoming fond of Shadic. He seemed experienced. Whether he actually was or not, he could not tell, but he sure knew what he was talking about. He allowed the ki orbs to disappear and turned back to his potential new ally. ”I am a saiyan. Straight from Planet Vegeta. I used to be a member of the Saiyan Army. You?" He said, informing Shadic of his origins. From what he said, Okra deduced that he was a martial artist as well, meaning that he knew how to fight. He wondered just how powerful he was, and suddenly began to crave the moment when he could challenge him.
"A Saiyan veteran, huh? That's neat." Okora reflected the question back at Shadic, who was happy to answer. "I was born and raised right here on this beautiful planet." He looked around at the grassland and smiled, taking in all of nature at once. Even after all his time exploring different worlds and even his own, the beauty of Earth still captivated the hybrid. It was unique with the wide variety of organisms that could be discovered.
He regained his focus on his conversation, not allowing himself to get lost in his thoughts, "I used to be a little normal 'human' boy but now I'm a badass guardian of like, probably the whole galaxy if I really wanted to be. Okay, maybe not that wide of a scale, mostly just here on Earth, but that'd be pretty cool wouldn't it?"
“While “beautiful” isn’t exactly the word I’d use, I guess I could understand why you would like this place. It’s all you’ve ever known. Once you travel through the galaxy, maybe even the universe, you’ll realize just how sickening and disgusting this sorry excuse for a civilization is.” He replied, expressing his dislike for the planet through his speech. Okora listened to Shadic, realizing that he was a powerful guardian of the planet, which shocked him. ”But why limit yourself to defending the earthlings? You could go out and do so much more. You could put that power to real use."
