Okora found himself standing on a cliff, looking down at the ocean below. The air went through his hair, letting flow behind him. He inhaled and exhaled deeply, letting the oxygen in the atmosphere flow through his body, invigorating the muscles. His feet were shoulder width apart, closed his hands into a fist, and raised his forearms by his waist. He squatted down and gritted his teeth, focusing his energy. With a loud grunt, he transformed into his Super Saiyan God form.
However, he didn’t stop there. Okora kept raising his energy, all the way up to the maximum. The ocean began to react, the waves becoming more aggressive with each passing moment. The water violently slammed itself against the side of the rocky wall. The wind began to pick up and his clothes reacted as they were performing a fast wavy motion as they were ruffled by the wind.
The small pebbles and rocks around the saiyan began to rise, floating in the air around him. Okora emphasized his effort by shouting as he tried to push his limits. The ground itself began to shake under him like an earthquake. His muscles were twitching, reaching their limits but still taking on more energy. He forced his forearms downward and his waist was thrusted outward as he tried to go take his power further.
His fiery red aura began to grow in size, flaring aggressively. The disastrous conditions began to increase in their power. Large chunks of rock detached themselves from the side of the cliff and fell into the water, creating loud splashes and seemed to continue. The ground around him began to fall apart completely, the section of the cliff he was standing on becoming a slim rock column and stood apart from the rest of the rock formation.
What the? This is as far as I can go? Such weakness! I haven’t improved much since I’ve gotten on this rotten planet. It’s lack of powerful warriors, with the exception of a few, has left me unable to find a challenge. It has drastically slowed down my progress. It is of utmost importance that I remedy that. He thought. Okora hated himself for letting outside distractions preventing from getting stronger. Without power, he couldn’t achieve his true goal. Should he fail, all of his previous accomplishment would’ve been for nothing.
His fiery aura began to calm down as he stabilized his energy. He took a few deep breaths and allowed the stormy conditions to die down to their previous, serene state. Okora needed something to push his limits. Shadic had mentioned the desert before, but he felt like he needed something greater. Possibly life threatening, even. He brought his fist of to his face tightened it, wondering about his next move.
Suddenly, the ground shook once more, but this time it wasn’t from him. Okora temporarily lost his balance, but regained it as he planted his feet firmly onto the ground. He felt a large energy coming from deep within the ocean. He heard a loud noise, but then realized it was a roar. Something fierce had been awoken. He saw a large, black figure appear, then seemingly get bigger as it approached the surface. Then, it appeared.
Its size seemed to get bigger and bigger, almost as if it was going to increase endlessly. Its own body blocked the sun, casting a large shadow over the saiyan and area around him. It had large tentacles sprouting out from underneath, as if there was even more of it below. Its light blue eyes sent a look at Okora that seemed hostile. The saiyan’s eyes widened, never seeing a creature like this before.
It roared loudly, its very voice sending a shockwave that Okora had a hard time resisting. It was clear that foreigners were not welcome here, and Okora figured that he had accidentally brought attention to himself by his actions before. He, giving into his own pride, refused to flee. Instead, he took on a battle stance, prepared to fight. A tentacle shot out from under him, easily taking out the rock column’s “support beam”.
Okora began to fall, but kept his body floating in the air using his flight and watched as the chunks of rock fell into the water. However, this momentary distraction allowed him to be caught off guard by a follow up attack that began almost immediately after. A tentacle wrapped itself around Okora and tightened its grip. The saiyan found it hard to breathe, and the pressure that was emitted from the grip began to slowly crush him. The pain intensified, causing Okora to grit his teeth before his body was slammed into the larger rock formation behind him.
His body was driven deep into the side of the cliff, causing a deep crater. The rough, rocky surface cut his clothes and scraped his skin. The tentacle wrapped in pulled him out and raised his body into the air before slamming his body onto the surface of the rock, causing a shallow crater. Okora grunted in pain and the tentacle let go of the warrior’s body, leaving him there.
Okora’s saw the world spinning, feeling dizzy by the sudden onslaught. He stumbled onto his feet, holding his head. “Argh… What is this abomination?” He wondered. He braced himself once more as the beast raised its fist and brought it down upon Okora. The saiyan reacted instantly, putting his hands up and caught the punch. His eyes widened and the wind was knocked out of him due to the sheer force and weight his body held. His body sank into the ground as he held the fist up, using all of his strength to do so and tried to go even further, resulting in the painful tearing and popping of muscles due to overexertion.
“Grr…” Okora growled as he struggled, even in his god form, to prevent himself form being squashed. He tried to push it back up, powering up as he did so, despite already being at his limit. A tentacle dug into the side of the cliff and went upwards, grabbing Okora’s leg from below and pulling. The saiyan cursed as he fell on his back, followed up by large fist crashing on him. Okora cried out in pain and coughed up blood. The monster stood over him, roaring once more before repeated slamming its fist into the saiyan’s body.
He felt the crushing of his bones and heard the crunching of his ribs. He felt blood pouring out from his head and various parts of his body as he was pushed further and further into the ground. Eventually, the last punch took out the entire rock and his body felt into the ocean. Soon he couldn’t even feel pain as his entire body began to feel numb. He just felt constant pressure. The water he fell in soon turned into a dark red as his body sank further and further into the water, his aura disappearing.
The victorious roars began to echo through the water. Okora’s consciousness was fading in and out as he struggled to stay awake. He could barely move, feeling his head pounding and his muscles swelling up. Bruises were quickly forming all around his body. No.. No! I won’t be defeated by some beast! I am a warrior! A member of the saiyan race! I am a damn deity!
His fiery aura sprouted to life around his body. His fingers twitched, and then his hold hand closed. “I will NEVER lose to the likes of you! Not a mindless animal!” He dashed out from the water, flying straight towards the head of the beast. “Take this! You freak!” He shouted, sending his own body crashing into the side of the beast’s face. The impact caught the monster’s attention, as it seemed to agitate it before another tentacle grabbed Okora’s leg and threw him downwards.
“Wow. And I thought you were pathetic before." A very familiar voice said. Okora looked towards the source of the voice, and was shocked with who he saw.
It was his brother, Tarro. He looked down upon, shaking his head from above. “What a pathetic piece of trash. You call yourself a god? Anything but. A god wouldn’t even have those wounds. You have always been weak, Okora. When we were kids, you couldn’t hold your own. During the battle where you achieved your new ascension, it was reliant on the allies surrounding you. That power you possess, it’s not yours. It never has been, never will be. You are nothing but a pretender. A fake. Now, I will finally get to see you pay for your cowardice and dependence. I will watch happily as you suffer defeat and throw your life away. May those who knew you call you Okora: The False God.”
He stopped himself and began to fly back once more. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Why was his brother? Why was he saying such things? Could it be that he was right? However, two more tentacles appeared and sent themselves towards the saiyan. The hardened, using the now sharp edge to pierce themselves straight through Okora’s left shoulder and his right thigh. Tarro was right. A deity wouldn’t have these problems, has his whole life been a lie the whole time? He felt embarrassed, and felt vulnerable. It bothered him greatly, even mentally straining him. He could feel his heartbeat beating fast, as if it was about to explode. He felt his senses heightened his body was running entirely on the rush of battle. He couldn’t shake the feeling, he desperately wanted to prove himself. To stop pretending and start being. Tarro smirked, floating triumphantly above him. Okora could feel the hate, slowly but surely, building within him. He may have been right about being some type of false god, but there was thing he was wrong about:
He wasn’t a damn coward.
“GAH! Grr, IS...IS THAT ALL YOU’VE GOT!” He shouted, taking his free arm and ripped the tentacles from his body, the adrenaline numbing the pain. Blood spilled out from the large gashes that the beast’s attack created. Okora flew towards the beast, charging energy in his right arm.
“Take this! DESTRUCTIVE DEMON WAVE!” He shouted, sending the beam towards the monster. It hit the monster’s chest, creating a large explosion as smoke filled the area. However, it didn’t seem to have done a lot, as the smoke revealed only a small, burned portion of the beast as it cleared. Okora, unable to to move two of his limbs, was determined to forge a path to victory. He used instant transmission, a technique learned from his time on Yardrat, and teleported in front of the beast’s face.
He brought his arm back, clenching his fist and threw it at the monster. However, things went downhill as the beast opened his mouth, revealing a large flash of light. The next thing the saiyan knew, he was consumed in a ball of smoke as his body was in free fall towards the ocean once again. No.. Not yet! He thought, digging deep within himself. He knew he had to bring out everything, even if he thought he had already done so.
I’ll show you what I can really do! He thought, forcing his eyes opened and his aura flared even more. “RAAH!!!” Okora shouted, his energy beginning to increase. It kept growing even more, passed everything he had achieved before.“YOU DAMN DEMON! I’LL SHOW YOU WHAT TRUE POWER IS!” He cried, letting all of his power lose. A light emitted from him, shining brightly. Clouds began to form and darkened. Lightning struck the water around them, the resulting thunder so loud that even the beast was shaken.
I’ll show you Tarro, I’ll prove just how wrong you are. His body changed. The front of his hair stayed red, but the rest of his hair grew in length, turning yellow. Red fur manifested around his body like an ape’s, easily showing through his practically destroyed clothes. His iris turned yellow and the white part of his eyes turned red. Blue bio-electricity sparked around his body and his aura turned yellow. “PREPARE TO DIE!” He shouted, completing his new transformation.
Okora charged forward with his new found power. The hardened, sharpened tentacles charged again, this time creating a deep slash across his chest. He backed up at first, but then powered up for a moment and continued onward. “RAAAH!!!” The tentacles tried to hold him back, but they weren’t able to. The power was too much. Okora, now reaching fullspeed, thrusted his fist forward, his entire body going straight through the beast’s chest.
The monster cried in pain leaning back and forth before completely falling onto his back, its entire body practically creating a tsunami as it fell into the ocean. It sunk into the water, its massive amounts purple blood turning the entire ocean the same color. Okora, completely out of power now, instantly changed back into his base form and fell into the water as well. He felt himself become overwhelmed with pain as his body floated on top of the ocean. Before he could think about what he had just done, he completely lost consciousness.
Tarro, amazed by what he saw, would carry his little brother to land. He laid his body down on the grass before flying off, wondering what path his sibling would take from here.
