OFFICIAL RULES
Characters
*NOTE: TAKE A LOOK AROUND THE SITE, ESPECIALLY AT APPROVED CHARACTERS, BEFORE CREATING YOUR OWN. THAT WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTER SHEET AND PROBABLY SOME OF THE RULES A LOT BETTER!*
Welcome to the site! You're on your way to being an official member, and now you're ready to create your character. Great! Head on over to the 'Characters' board or simply click on the character sheet link above. Copy/Paste the link into a new thread under the 'Characters' board and fill it out. The sheet is fairly simple, but it may take some time if you want [Your Character] to be the best they can be! We recommend using notepad, Word, or some other third party software that can save your work. There have been many times that people have lost their hard work due to a number of errors, and we do not want that to happen to [Your Character].
After you finish filling out the template, let the members know. The chat is always open, but send them the link to [Your Character] and be patient. They often have a lot on their plate, so it may take some time to get to your sheet. Do not try to start roleplaying until [Your Character] is accepted!
After your character is approved, you're free to go do whatever. Keep in mind, you cannot make changes to [Your Character] once they are complete. If you wish to make changes, contact Hypno and they will see what they can do for you, but major changes are not allowed.
A person is allowed to make up to 3 characters at a time. For more details, see REINCARNATION.
Race/Species
On this site, we allow you to create whatever kind of character you would like. Your imagination is the limit, and this includes when selecting a race/species.
Keep in mind when you are writing up a character sheet and pick a race/species, do not assume [Your Character] automatically gets the abilities of that race/species. If [Your Character] does not have an ability listed they cannot utilize that ability! For example, not all Saiyan characters can transform into the Great Ape.
If you create your own race/species, elaborate on them. Give them a backstory, make them unique! You may even be able to cement the race on this site for others to create in the future.
Topics
Topics are where players post their roleplay. There are four main types of topics: OPEN, INVITE ONLY, PRIVATE, and SOLO. Each of these are described in more detail below.
Open: Open topics allow anybody to join at any time. Even though the topic is open, it is still common courtesy to ask permission before joining.
Invite Only/Private: These topics are typically the same thing, except invite only topics allow members to 'invite' other players. Private topics are closed only to a select few people, often decided on before the topic is even created.
Solo: Solo topics are what the name entails: Solo. Nobody joins the topic as it is just [Your Character]. These are best for plot development as each post only rewards 100pl (power level) regardless of word count. Although, we do ask each post has at least 300 words before it counts as a full solo post.
Some topics can be labelled 'PUSSY' or 'PUS,' meaning [Your Character] cant be killed in that topic. This is to give snowflakes a safe place from strong characters. If a topic is not labelled 'PUS,' it is to be assumed that killing is allowed.
The creator of the topic often can set specific rules for the topic. For example, the creator of the topic can set up a scenario for the characters to have to deal with. This must be done in the first post or discussed with the members of the thread beforehand.
Aside from solos, you cannot use all of [Your Character]s in the same topic. This is to prevent 'ganging up' on people.
Time Lines
General: This DBZ site takes place 102 years after the end of the Dragon Ball Z anime/manga. GT is not canon on this site, and the events of Dragon Ball Super never occurred. Characters such as Goku, Gohan, Vegeta are dead. However, a few still remain, such as Master Roshi and Shen.
Personal: How you order [Your Character]'s threads is up to you. We have an entire section for plotters, which is a good way to keep track of [Your Character]'s story.
Setting
People are allowed to describe the setting of their thread so other players can get an idea of the landscape. If this matters, make sure it is described early on in the thread rather than when it benefits [Your Character]. If the creator of the thread does not describe the setting, another player has permission to do so. Just use common sense and everybody should be fine.
The setting cannot be used to attack another character. For example, a volcano cannot erupt and splash lava on [Your Character]'s opponent. However, if [Your Character] does have some sort of elemental manipulation technique, they are allowed to manipulate that. Even still, it is [YOUR Character] doing the battling, not the environment.
General Battling
This roleplay is considered freestyle. That means, there is no dice rolling to determine anything, but there are still rules to balance things out.
You are not allowed to state that [Your Character]'s attacks actually took place, everything is based on intention.
Incorrect Way to Post: John Cena fired a ki blast and hit Jeff Cena point blank, killing him.
Correct Way to Post: John Cena fired a ki blast point blank at Jeff Cena with the intention to kill him.
Use common sense, for the most part. If one character has 40,000 PL and the other only has 2,000; it would not make sense for the weaker character to be holding their own. If that does happen, it is considered god-modding, which is cheating. Try to resolve the issue amongst each other before taking further action.
If two players cannot resolve an issue with their battle a agreed upon member can intervene. That member can and will make the decision.
NPC Status
If a player leaves the site, or just becomes inactive for a lengthy period of time, their character will likely become an NPC. They may make their way into a questline or be an important part of an Epic Battle/Saga or Mini-Saga. Do not be surprised if you return and find out [Your Character] is the President of Earth.
If you do happen to return after your hiatus, simply request to get your character back and everything will be back to normal. After a little reworking of the site (if necessary), everything will be fine. If [Your Character] is used as a NPC in a thread, they will not obtain any PL or Zeni for their time; simply because they are a NPC.
Thread: Thread NPCs are often thread bosses used to make a thread more interesting. These NPCs usually do not survive the thread, and if they do, they never show up again. These are allowed to be strong to provide a challenge, but again, if they are excessively strong a agreed upon member can take matters into their own hands.
Canon Characters
No canon characters are allowed on the site whatsoever, minor characters included.
Canon Exception: The only time we allow the use of canon characters is during quests, in which characters like Master Roshi or Shen may teach [Your Character] how to become a better fighter. Please play these characters as accurately as possible if you do use this option.
Rankings: Some characters on the site have a certain 'rank' on their planet (President, King of Saiyans, Guru, Kami, etc.). There are various ways to obtain these rankings; contact BB or Derpy if you want to learn more. These Ranks provide a financial benefit, but also demand "more" of the member.
Quests: Quests are a fast way to gain power, as each quest provides more PL than the average post as long as the requirements are met. Because of this, questing is limited to 10k per month to prevent massive grinding.
Epic Battles/Sagas
Epic Battles are created by an admin for a special event where the site comes together to follow a plot line. These plots are often include site-changing events and extremely powerful NPCs to provide a challenge to the site. There is always the danger of death within an Epic Battle. Due to this danger, Epic Battles provide 200 PL and 10 Zeni per post, as opposed to 100 PL and 1 Zeni.
Before an Epic Battle begins, players are asked to sign their characters up. This is so the Saga Staff can confirm a set PL for the characters within the Saga. Otherwise, people could try to grind up their character(s) and make them much stronger than they initially were.
Epic battles/Sagas let each player use all of their characters in the same thread, which is something prohibited in most other thread types.
No-Shows
Generally, in a topic and even in epic battles, players can occasionally vanish from site. This often slows down topics/battles. To ensure it does kill a thread, other players are allowed to skip.
The rule for no-shows in a topic goes as follows. The player is given three (IRL) days to make their post. If the player does not have any intention of posting within that time, whoever follows them in the thread order is allowed to skip them. The first skip, we ask, is always non-violent. This means the character is simply ignored while whatever happens. The second offense in a single thread is allowed to be a violent skip, meaning [Your Character] is at risk for non-permanent injury. Whoever follows in the posting order can attack [Your Character] or simply remove them from the thread non-violently. The third, and often final, skip is allowed to be a fatal skip. This means [Your Character] can either be removed from the thread peacefully or they can be killed, which also removes them from the thread. It is up to whoever follows in the posting order to decide [Your Character]'s fate from there.
In an epic battle/saga, the 3 day skip rule is still in effect. Unlike in regular threads, there is no non-violent skip. Being skipped in an epic battle can be devastating for [Your Character], often severely injuring them or even killing them. The first skip will never kill [Your Character] but it can still do some significant damage.
To avoid no-show penalties, please contact the members in said topic and explain the situation to them. If your absence is within a reasonable time frame, the thread can be put on pause until your return. If not, the thread will continue as if [Your Character] ran away or simply disappeared.
Transformations
There are two ways a character can transform: Unlockable transformations (ex: Super Saiyan, Super Namek, etc.) and Bestial transformations (ex: Oozaru).
All characters on the site have unlockable transformations. We encourage players to get creative with their transformations, as they all provide the same boost to power regardless. There are three tiers of unlockable transformations. Tier 1 provides a 2x power boost and is unlocked at 20,000 PL. Tier 2 provides a 4x power boost and is unlocked at 40,000 PL. Tier 3 provides a 6x power boost and is unlocked at 100,000 PL. To obtain one of these transformations, post in the 'Transformation and Quests' board. Make sure the post is emotionally charged and at least 3 paragraphs long, otherwise the members will not accept it.
Bestial transformations, such as the Great Ape Oozaru, are just that: beasts! Unless [Your Character] has a technique that allows them to control their bestial transformation, they act on pure instincts. So the 1.5x power boost may be nice, but it is not without its drawbacks.
Transformations do not stack. An Oozaru (or any other 1.5x transformation) cannot become a Super Saiyan (or any other 2x transformation).
Teleportation
There are two types of teleportation on this site. The first is short ranged teleportation, better known as blink. The second type of long ranged teleportation, often referred to as 'Instant Transmission.' Characters with this technique can travel extremely long distances in, well, an instant! Do note, this technique can also be used in battle, but to do so requires three turns of uninterrupted charging. It is often used to flee a battle, which correlates with the next ruling...
Exiting a Topic
If [Your Character] leaves a topic, whether it is a general topic or a saga, there is no returning without permission from members of the topic. If [Your Character] dies in a topic, there is no returning at all.
Character Accessories
You cannot suddenly create things on [Your Character] to give them an instant edge against others. Say, for instance, you'd like your character to be wealthy. It would need to be listed somewhere on the character's sheet, likely in personality and history. Another way to do obtain things is through IC roleplay. It takes time to earn things, sometimes things take longer than others to get. That includes instant ships, technology, factories, teleporters, etc. The only exceptions are obtaining techniques or purchasing items through the on-site shop.
Do NOT use an npc to give [Your Character] free items. That is borderline godmodding.
With that said, always point out any items [Your Character] may have, including armor and special clothing. The excuse "I wanted to surprise everybody" does not work. Explaining that [Your Character] is wearing armor, for example, should not affect the decisions characters make IC. Though this may not be the case for many NPC like topics to add suspense. This is strictly for characters.
Character Knowledge VS Player Knowledge
[Your Character] obtains knowledge starting with their character sheet and working off that, using experiences IC (in-character) to build on. If [Your Character] was not in a topic which you (as a player) happened to read, [Your Character] does not have that knowledge. This is often considered meta-gaming. Yes, this should be considered common sense, yet it seems to happen so often. Don't do it! Player knowledge is against the rules!
Death Rules
When a person dies, they don’t actually die. Rather, they end up in line to see King Yemma in Otherworld. You must post in Afterlife board to see the King. If the player has a preference, they can ask for a specific member to play him. He will judge [Your Character] and send them to heaven/hell. Once that happens, there are new quests available for completion.
You can die in any topic unless it is labeled "Please Underline Serious Situations Yieldfully" or [PUSSY] for short. This means that your character is protected from any chance from death.
Keep in mind, if [Your Character] died in one topic, any other active topics are unaffected. [Your Character] just stays in them like nothing happened. However, there are rules to follow before your character returns to the life, which brings us to...
As you may, or should, know, dying in character does not mean your character is gone forever. Dying simply means your character has passed onto the afterlife, which is where they can be gone forever should they be killed at that point. To prevent people from just hopping into threads and doing as much damage as they can before killing themselves, we have implemented a life rule.
Each year (IRL) every character only has 7 lives. Upon the 8th death, that character is stuck in the afterlife until the 1st of January. The only exceptions to this are characters with the 'Unkillable' trait and Admin NPCs (i.e. quest characters).
Resurrection
When a player dies, they cannot start another living topic for 7 days (IRL) while dead. Once those 7 days had passed, their character can miraculously be resurrected and start again. While dead, players generally complete Otherworld quests and have one of the Kai's (or demon) send them back. This is not required, though, as the reasoning is up to the player.
Of course, this whole process can be skipped by players with the 'Unkillable' Trait [BBCODE link to Trait List].
If you want your kill to matter VS someones life count. After you kill them go to there character sheet and post
Example: lets say I kill you. Yes you reading this >:3 Id post this to your character.
Kill Count:(1-7)
Killed by:

If youre at 8 read and make sure he doesnt have "Unkillable" if he doesnt please contact Hypno unless it is Hypno then contact BB or other members.
Permanent Death
If[Your Character] is killed in the afterlife, they are dead forever. This is because in the afterlife, they are simply a soul. Keep in mind, no one is allowed to kill another character in the afterlife without permission from that player. Fighting is often broken up in the afterlife regardless, excluding in Hell. Even then, nobody has permission to Perma-Kill a character unless the player wants to kill off their character for good. Speaking of which...
Reincarnation: A player is allowed to play up to 3 PC's (playable characters) at once. If they want to create another, one must: die (permanently), be retired (turned into a site NPC), or be reincarnated. Reincarnation is similar to killing the character off, except one third (1/3) of the old character’s pl can go into [Your *new* Character]. [Your *new* Character] does not possess any memories, experiences, or knowledge of the past character, since they are reincarnated. This allows people bored with their old character to make a new one and not lose everything in the process. There is no limit to how often a person can reincarnate their characters, but try not to make it excessive.
Dragon Ball Rules
Due to an incident that took place on Namek in site lore, there is presently only one active set of dragon balls, which is on Earth. Chasing after dragon balls is considered a special event which will be done and announced by an admin when it can start. No one is allowed to find dragon balls without admin approval, so don’t try!
Most of the time a Dragon Ball thread will be started by member(Once a week starting January first 1st 2019). Yes, hunting for Dragon Balls can get [Your Character] killed.
If [Your Character] has collected 4 Dragon Balls, they are a target. If [Your Character] dies in a Dragon Ball topic, they lose all of their Dragon Balls that they'd collected. Every single one.
[Your Character] may NOT take a Dragon Ball off-world, into the afterlife, or in any other way seek to remove it from play. A person owning a Dragonball must remain on Earth for as long as they own a Dragon ball. Dragon balls are not allowed to be destroyed without admin approval.
Once all seven are obtained by [Your Character], they can ask for whatever they want, but it must be reasonable. It is up to an Admin to approve this wish. If they think the wish is unreasonable or too OP, it will be refused, but [Your Character] can ask for something else.
Dragon Radar: A player must make a custom path to obtain a radar. Same rules apply as above. The player must have some valid reason as to the idea of how to obtain one, why to obtain one, what made them think one could possibly exist (these things don’t just jump in your lap, and you don’t just miraculously know what it is or how to use it). Use your brain or it wont be accepted. It must be at the very least 3 paragraphs, 5 sentences per. Special note: The Dragon Radar is ‘not’ allowed to be mass-produced (or any other important piece of technology that could greatly effect this game).
The Dragon Radar can be stolen, and if a fight breaks out with someone who has one, there is a chance the Radar can be broken. The admin will tell you if it was broken in battle. It will probably be judged by the intensity of the battle. People can attempt to hide the radar to prevent it from getting broken, but then there will also be a chance someone else can stumble upon it and take it.
Other Rules
Out of Character (OOC) Rules:
*Spam is prohibited. Repeated offenses can result in ban.
*Golden Rule: Treat others how you want to be treated and they will do the same.
*No pornography or any other sexual content on the forums. If anything of the like is found, the punishment is an instant ban.
*Bots will be removed ASAP.
In Character (IC) Rules:
*God-Modding can be suspect for punishment.
*Meta-Gaming will also be punished accordingly.
*Play [Your Character] as they are meant to be played. This is the reason for the personality and alignment sections on the character sheet. Remember, the site is to be written from a 3rd person point-of-view, meaning no "I's, Me's, You's" or the like unless writing dialogue.
*We recommend three or fewer topics at once, but it is not required. Admins/Mods may intervene if we suspect too much grinding is being done (meaning [Your Character] is in too many threads at once).
Power Level (PL) Chart
Normal Topic (OPEN, PUSSY, CLOSED, PRIVATE, SOLO): 100 PL per post. Keep in mind, solo threads require 300 words per post to obtain the 100 PL. Solos are encouraged for character development, but not for PL grinding.
Quests: Quests are a fast way to obtain PL. Each quest provides a different amount of PL as long as the requirements for the quest are met. Only 10k PL can be obtained from quests each month to prevent grinding. Quests have no effect on site lore, but they may be important to your character's lore.
Epic Battle/Saga: 200 PL per post. The Saga staff can initiate a saga, but the events of these threads are often crucial to changes in the site's overall lore.
Mini Saga: 200 PL per post. You can only participate in a mini-saga once every three months. Contact a mod if you would like to start up a mini-saga.
Traits: Some traits provide bonus PL at the end of a topic. Each trait is different, but remember to round to the nearest hundred to keep things simple.
Payment Chart
Normal Threads: 1 Zeni a post
Quests: 0 zeni per post.
Mini Saga: 1 Zeni per post.
Epic Battle/Saga: 10 Zeni per post
Also, a thing to note, certain groups pay bonus Zeni per post.

Staff Rules
THIS IS IMPORTANT. All we need staff to do now-a-days and make sure everyone permissions are logged and PL sorta uptodate. Hypno is in charge of this simple task. The rest of the work is up to members more then less. Welcome to Anarchy. But suggestion. Dont make Hypno have to get BB. Or someone is looking to die.
Battling
Battling is a large part of this role playing game and a major part of the interaction with other players here. Battling could be a result of [Your Character]'s negative alignment, need for something, or just a dislike of another character. To initiate a battle, the characters must be on the same planet as each other and must participate in the same thread.
Types of Battles
One on One, Two on Two, etc: This is the most basic type of battling, it is player vs. player. A player will fight against another in hopes of defeating them or making them surrender. This battle still allows other players to jump in, so still always be on your highest guard, or it could turn into a handicap match as explained below.
Handicap Match (2+ vs. less): If one side is losing on a one versus one match then a second player may jump in turning it into a handicap match where the same rules still apply.
Fleeing a Battle
Fleeing from a battle can be good or bad at points, first of all [Your Character] will need a clear opportunity when the opponent is distracted. Secondly, the person's power level has to be reasonable to allow such an action (If someone at 2,000 PL is attempting to run from an 10,000+ PL without proper distraction, it's not going to happen).
Winning a Battle
Battles are won when one side surrenders or dies completely. When a surrender is denied, the player has a chance to kill him/her or let them live, regardless they get full battle stats. Depending on [Your Character]'s actions (who they kill, whether they steal anything, how they killed), their alignment can be negatively (or positively) affected. When a character dies they go into the Afterlife and enter Hell or Heaven depending on their alignment and actions when they were alive. The afterlife has excellent quests and activities to complete there, so don't quit quite yet if [Your Character] has died. They only have to stay in the afterlife for one week, or longer if they want to complete more missions/quests/threads.
Fan-fiction
If you're an eager writer who wants to write and don't get enough from RPing, give some fan-fiction a try over in Artwork, under general discussion. It is also the one place where you can write about canon characters if you truly feel the need to get it out of your system. Though you get nothing of value (on the site) for it, it is a good way to showcase your creativity.
Remember, even fan-fiction has just one rule: Please no porn. You want to write a romance, you can....but no one here needs to read the sloppy details.
Fusion
To start, we only allow two characters to fuse at a time. Things simply get too complicated when there are three, four, even five person fusions. When the two characters fuse, the fusion earns all 6 traits, weaknesses, and all techniques (Excluding duplicates, of course... except for Weaknesses. You get a double penalty.).
Both characters who are fusing need to know the fusion dance, but only one character needs to have the 'Fusion' trait.
Fusion is complicated, so here is how it works. After completing the four posts long fusion dance, each player has control over the fusion. They alternate posts every other turn. The fusion lasts for 30 posts (15 each).
The fused character's PL is a combination of the two characters. For example, Character A has a PL of 47,000 and Character B has a PL of 62,000. Their combined PL, and the PL of the fusion, is 109,000.
Also, the fusions are able to transform, but both characters must have surpassed a transformation tier before the fusion can have that transformation. To clarify, if Character A has unlocked their second transformation but Character B has not, their fusion will not be able to transform into tier 2.
