Throne Room

Reku sat on his throne in middle of the night, sleeping. Rest had become something rare nowadays, especially since he had become King. He had found himself with so many things to do lately that he could barely keep up. The saiyan's philosophy was almost like a “Manifest Destiny”. They had to spread until they had conquered all of the universe. Possibly even further. Not to mention that the state of the civilization on this planet was horrible. The buildings practically fell down by so much as a flick. Reku didn’t even need 1% of his power to take on his saiyan army. In addition to that, the saiyan revolt, led by Peregrinus, was still somewhat active.
He had already imprisoned ten members and executed six. Reku was beginning to get exhausted, but he knew it would all pay off in the end. He wished he had some help though. He was beginning to worry that all of these responsibilities might prevent him from getting stronger. He did not want to simply give it up however, as he had worked so hard and had come so far to get to where he was. While he had no idea of what he was in for in the future, he knew he had to be ready for it.
As he was sleeping, anyone watching would see him twisting and turning violently. Almost as if he was in a fight. In his dream, it was like he was fighting himself again, only this time it was worse. A dark silhouette of himself with yellow eyes that practically looked into your soul. It gave of such a presence that even powerhouses like Shadic would hesitate before attacking. He was surrounded by nothing but a dark void. Reku couldn’t even tell what he was standing on.
A powerful punch struck him in the gut faster than even he could see. The forced pushed Reku back, leaving him on his knees and gasping for air. He looked up as the silhouette standing over him with its arms crossed and looked down upon him. “So, this is the best you can produce?" It said with a dark, rough voice that seemed to echo throughout the landscape. It threw a punch down at Reku’s head, but the latter rolled out of the way and tried to power up into his Dark Reku form. However, it was all futile.
Relax Reku, it’s just a dream right? This can’t be real. This can’t be real. He thought, trying to rationalize this entire situation. Reku didn’t know why he was feeling so afraid, as he had felt as if he had gone against tougher opponents before. It was almost as if this “presence” that existed was drawing out all the negative energies from his body. However, it was as if the silhouette was reading his mind. “Your mind won’t save you. I’m more powerful…" It said as he raised his hand, letting a powerful white energy come over it. “Than you could possibly imagine!" It roared as it slammed its head into the ground beneath them. A white flash filled Reku’s field of vision as he was suddenly awake.
“Huh? What?!" Reku woke up startled, flailing his limbs as he tried to fight off the enemy he had been fighting in his nightmare. He paused for a moment, calming himself down as he looked around in the dark room. He was alone with only him and his own thoughts. Reku laid back in his chair, exhaling deeply as he put his hands over his face and massaged his temples with his index finger and his thumb. ”Oh what the hell is happening to me…" He muttered. These nightmares had been occurring for the past two weeks and lately he has been feeling more.. friendly?
Looking back, Reku noticed he was laughing and smiling more. Usually, he wouldn’t killed all the prisoners he had brought back with him when he raided the resistance’s base. Instead, he ended up sparing them, but he didn’t know why. Even when he had fought James in Satan City, even though the Bio-Saiyan gave up, it didn’t bother him as much. In fact, he had accepted it. Reku allowed himself to turn Super Saiyan just to make Tadeo stop fighting so he wouldn’t kill himself from overexertion. Of course, had never actually bothered to tell him that.
Even his own hatred for Big Shot was slowly fading away. In the beginning, Reku wanted Big Shot to show his face again so he could finally have revenge. He has been holding a grudge for more than three years and there was nothing he could do. Not even remembering his losses could help bring back the emotions he felt. The only time Reku could really muster up the hatred that he used to have was when a mysterious man kidnapped his son.
Reku raised his hand from his face and looked up at his palms. Am I getting soft? He wondered, sitting up and looking at the floor below him. I guess no one can hold a grudge forever after all. Big Shot was an asshole, but he did used to be my friend. I just wish I could’ve talked things out instead of letting it get this far. So many battles could have been prevented. I cut nearly all of my ties. And Shadic… how the hell does he still have faith in me? I almost killed Azuki for crying out loud. Is he insane? His thoughts continued to wander.
Does Tadeo even have a clue as to what happened during the years? I’ve only really hung out with him a couple of times. I don’t think he even knows me as well as he thinks. If he were to witness what I have done, killing Runi, the only person who actually stuck by me. It was then that Reku released that he saw droplets of some strange, clear liquid on the ground he looked at. He was confused at first, but then he realized something as he put his hand up to his face, letting it tremble as he touched right under his eye. It was a tear. He was crying. He was feeling a strange mixture of frustration and sadness. His body began to shiver, as he had never actually cried before. At least, he couldn’t remember the last time he did.
“What the hell is wrong with me!” Reku screamed, but only got echoes in response before the room was filled with silence again. He felt very disappointed, but he didn’t know what he was expecting. Maybe some strange answer from the heavens? A magical book that could give him all the answers? He continued to sit in silence, pondering his entire life up until this point. He was trying to find where it all went wrong. What was his big mistake?
Reku felt the crush of stone from right behind him and suddenly felt a huge emptiness inside. Then he felt an enormous pain wash over his entire body, coming straight from his chest. He slowly looked down and his eyes widened in absolute horror as he realized that a large arm had been plunged straight through his back and out through his chest. Reku saw the fingers close as the hand formed a fist and he felt the entire limb become ripped out of him.
The King of Vegeta felt a feeling of weakness as he fell off of his chair and onto his hands knees. He was trying to breathe, but he couldn’t feel any air coming in or out. He spat out a large amount of blood and clutched his right hand over his chest wound. The amount of blood that was pouring out of his body spilled throughout his fingers and all over the back of his hand before falling onto the ground. Reku was confused, the voice that had spoken was exactly like the evil figure in his dream. The figure walked in front of him, smirking. ”Son of a! How did y-" Reku lost weakness his limbs and fell flat onto his chest and face.
He was amazed that the was still alive, because Reku felt as if his entire heart was gone. The figure laughed out loud, sounding evil and maniacal. “Look at how easily I was able to take you down. You dropped your guard like the fool you are!" It exclaimed. Reku growled and tried to talk, spitting out a chunk of his red, bodily fluid before speaking. "I don’t understand. I thought we settled this! In the forest! I accepted my cruel nature! Why have you returned?!" He asked.
The figure suddenly stopped laughing and looked at him. The way his head snapped to attention made Reku’s skin crawl. “I am not the same entity the you have encountered. You may have accepted your dark nature, but you refuse to accept Dark Ki." It replied, to which Reku was shocked to hear. ”Are you kidding? I’ve honed my skills. I have mastered it and tapped into its true potential! I alone ascended even further beyond! And-"
“LIES!" The entity shouted at the top of his lungs with its voice sounding like clap of thunder. The entire room shook, and the sudden vibration only made Reku nauseous. “You’ve resisted our influence once in the pit. It is rare for someone to do so, let alone a saiyan. You have barely even managed to scratch the surface our true capabilities. Only by succumbing to the will of the dark energy that we possess can you truly achieve your goals."
”I would rather die, than become a slave to you. I’ve told you that before and I resisted your attempts to take control over my mind. Why you do persist? If I am truly so bothersome, then why don’t you take your power away from me!" Reku replied. The entity crouched down and looked straight in Reku’s face. He could see his pupils becoming lighter, signaling that he wasn’t going to stay conscious soon. ”Because, you are very good candidate for a vessel for my power. You still have untapped emotion and power in you. You refuse to bring it out. However, it’s ok. I have decided to take the liberty of bringing it out for you whether you like it or not."
”Like I’d… L-Let you do that!" Reku said, stumbling over his own words. The world began to practically spin around him as he felt it increasingly more difficult to stay awake. It was taking all of his willpower to keep his eyes open, let alone using his brain to form words and to say them out loud. ”Oh please, as if I would need your consent. Once you pass out from your wounds, you will be powerless to stop me. I will easily be able to take over your body completely. Once that happens, it’s over for you. For me however, it’s only the beginning."
”I’ll c-come to… e-eventually. I’ll fight…fight back and d-destroy you!" Reku stated, now practically beginning to sink into a pool of his own blood. “Oh, I know you’ll wake up, but at that point it won’t matter. You’ll simply nothing more than a battery. You’ll be a prisoner in your own mind. The only thing you’ll be able to watch everything I do. I can do whatever I please. Kill your son, maybe your friends as well. You can get as angry as you wish, it won’t matter. Your emotions would simply feed my power. I will force that latent energy out of you and I will finally be at the level of strength that I need. And there’s nothing you can do it to stop me."
Reku’s visioned blurred out severely until he simply blacked out. The last thing he felt a was an odd rush of cold air over his entire body.
Reku’s body began to glow, the yellow aura forming around him until he ascended into his Super Saiyan form. The entity was forced out of the saiyan’s body and he was sent through the stone wall behind him. Reku was still unconscious with his eyes still a very pale green. He ascended even further into his Wrathful Super Saiyan form. The lines on his body glowed brightly, maybe even blinding anyone that would dare look into it. Will was the only thing keeping Reku’s body standing at the moment.
The dark force stood up and charged at Reku’s body, roaring as it intended on becoming the perfect weapon one way or another. As it was right about to plunge its fist into the chest of the half saiyan king, it was over. Reku opened up his arms, much to the entity’s shock. He engulfed the entirety of it into his own body. A black orb formed around him, but then a flash of light erupted within, unleashing a powerful force that broke through it.
Reku’s body was left flowing with a light thin outline on his body before it faded away, leaving him lying on his throne. The gash in his chest had disappeared and he had a different kind of dream that night. It was some monster destroying every living being that had opposed him. Its power shook planets and destroyed cities. The power it possessed forced all those around him to kneel and worship him like a god. Death and destruction was everywhere and there was no one who could stop it.
However, Reku remained calm, for he had nothing to fear. After all, he was the monster.
