Meanwhile, Deus was absolutely paranoid. He had no idea if the “RR” guys were even still trying to hunt him down after all of this time. Part of wished he stayed in South City, but he refused to be restricted to one place. He had to get out and see the world at some point. Now seemed like the right time. North City was obviously still in some sort of a recovery from the battle that put him in the hospital. Deus could already feel the memories of his mother’s death returning. The face of that monster from hell would haunt him forever.
As he continued down the sidewalk, he heard various gunshots coming from a building not too far away. Deus thought he stopped in place, looking to see what was going on, but before he even realized it he was already moving towards the source. His instinct got the better of him once again it seemed. “What in the actual hell? Well. Here I go I guess." He muttered to himself. He saw the building and looked at the one adjacent to it. He jumped onto the side of the concrete wall, using it to push himself off of it before crashing through the window.
He landed in a crouched position, staying silent as he looked around. His dagger appeared in his right hand with Deus’s guard all the way up. There was no telling who else might be lurking in here. As he carefully moved down through the buildings, the more and more it began to seem like it was completely empty. In fact, he was beginning to think he had the wrong apartment. That is, until he saw the bodies. Deus’s eyes squinted as cautiously walked towards them, being weary for any traps.
He crouched down to their bodies, seeing a bullet in each of their heads. Geez, these guys definitely got unlucky. He thought to himself. He stood up, looking around some more before concluding that whoever murdered these two men were gone. Oddly enough, he wasn’t all that fazed by the dead bodies. After he killed the scientist during his desperately attempt to escape the lab that tried to make him a slave, he figured that he wasn’t that much better than anyone else. If at all.
”Alright. I found the bodies, now where did the killer run off to?"
