Shadic PL: 114,900; Undetectable, Electric Ki, Zenkai Kami's Lookout; Earth 14:08 Thursday
Shadic stood on the edge of the lookout, staring out at the overcast sky. Of course, the lookout was so tall he had nothing but sunshine and rays, but the gray clouds beneath him were interesting to look at. It was an angle he could not see from the ground. Still, it helped take his mind off things that bothered him, which had been a lot of things recently. Edgy's promise about her planning something, trying to sort out the space council, other Kami duties, were just a lot for the hero to handle. In honesty, Shadic sometimes wished he could go back to just being an underappreciated hero, especially since the higher powers still hadn't given him their blessings to be officially the God of Earth yet.
Now Azuki and Pico got to have all the fun while he had to stay cooped up on the tower, meditating for creating new techniques to defend the planet. Unless, of course, the threat level was high enough. Or, sometimes when he was bored, he'd still go out and fight street level crimes, but for the most part street level crimes were a little below his pay grade. Sad times. The hybrid sat around, as always, waiting for something exciting to happen.
Everything I do always leads back to this world. My goodness. Can't I make connections anywhere else? Reku thought to himself. His pod entered Earth's atmosphere yet again and was he plummeting towards the surface. The streak it created in the air looked noticeable as it crashed into a rocky mountain with great force. The door opened as he stepped out, letting the fresh air go through his hair. "Now... where the hell is Shadic." He wondered, knowing that he had an important message to tell him.
An alien pod entered the atmosphere no more than four hundred yards in front of Shadic and the lookout. It streaked through the sky until it cut through the clouds and was gone from the hybrid's field of view. He sighed, knowing full well what kind of pod just arrived. It was Saiyan, and as far as Shadic knew, there was only one Saiyan who would be visiting the Earth for any particular reason. And, of course, if it just so happened to be somebody else, they were not as strong as the King so they would not be a problem to handle.
Shadic took a step forward and fell off the edge of the lookout. He plummeted towards the Earth as the wind rushed past him and up into the air. The green, grassy ground slowly increased in size and scale as the hybrid neared, until Shadic was just milliseconds from making deadly contact. The hero swooped upwards, sending wind gusts through the grass around the area, and flew towards the mountain where the pod landed.
Once he arrived, Shadic landed on the rocky terrain and took a look around. The pod had charred the rocks in the area from the heat it picked up upon entry to the atmosphere, forever scarring the surface of the Earth, "Funny seeing you here again," Shadic joked towards the pod, assuming his friend was inside, "Not really, actually, I know you just love this place, and to be honest, I can't blame you."
Reku heard the familiar voice nearby as he turned to see his friend appear. Well that was certainly convenient. The King smiled and waved to Shadic, but couldn't help but correct him on his statement. "Hey now, don't get the wrong idea. It just so happens that all of my friends are here, geez. Wait, how'd you find me so fast? I mean I know you can sense my energy and all but, damn." He replied. He began to stretch out, feeling cramped after being in a pod for so long.
Reku seemed confused as to how Shadic managed to track him down mere seconds after landing, but the answer was quite simple, "When you're cooped up on a tower doing nothing all day, which pretty much describes my life at this point, you notice things. Like a meteor crashing through the atmosphere and into the side of a big rock no more than ten miles away," He sighed and looked off at some rocks in the distance. Shadic's new life may not have been the most exciting thing in the world, but it was actually very important. Or so he was told.
"If you're not here because you love the place, which I know is the secret reason behind you returning, then why are you here? If I'd known you were stopping by I would have just waited to tell you my council idea myself rather than having Quantum come do it," He disregarded their encounter at Edgy's island, since that was a business call more than anything.
"Haha, sounds like quite the job." Reku replied, finding humor in Shadic's new duties."I'll tell you in a sec, button we talk at your place? Not to mooch off of your stuff or anything, but I'm kind of...hungry." He said admittedly, putting on an awkward smile as he did so. He wasn't able to recall the last time he had a nice, good meal. Additionally, if there was anything good on Earth at all, it was the food.
What was it with these Saiyans coming to Earth and asking for food? Shadic knew they had an insatiable hunger, for battle and food, but if this was going to start becoming a thing he wanted none of it. First Aspara, now Reku? Wack, "I mean, I don't exactly have a lot of food on the Lookout. We could go to a restaurant or something, on me. Big Shot gave me a nifty 'little' debit card as a gift for becoming the official Guardian of this place, so money is no real issue," He emphasized the word little, since it actually had a lot of cash loaded onto it, since Big Shot seemingly had no end to his funds.
Shadic bit his lip when he accidentally let his reunion with Big Shot slip. He knew Reku and the android had been on rocky grounds since before the BoB even fell, so hopefully that wouldn't set his King friend on some angry rampage. Maybe becoming a father and king mellowed out Reku a little bit. It was all Shadic could hope for at that point.
"Hold on, Big Shot? Like, the Big Shot? That's a name that I haven't heard in a while. When did he start showing his face again? Where has he been all this time?" Reku replied, pretty surprised. He had mostly gotten over all the torment he had to go through when that rich guy was around. Upon the hearing the name it was almost as if all the bad memories came flooding back as an instinctual rage build up within him, like a reflex. However, Reku was quickly able to calm himself down, remembering that that was a long time ago and a lot has a changed since then. He had other stuff to worry about now.
Shadic hopped into the air, ready to depart for a place to eat, but Reku seemed disturbed by the Big Shot comment. The hybrid feared this would happen, and he internally scolded himself for even name dropping their old friend, "Yep, Brand Herman. The head honcho of all things Big Shot himself. The Big Shot. Unpredictable, strange, weird android person thing. Our ole' pal," Shadic cleared his throat, "He's been busy working on his business side of things because apparently his partnership with Capsule Corp is booming. Or something along those lines. And he said he went through a state of extreme stress and depression, typical kajillionare stuff, nothing we really need to worry about,"
The hybrid looked off towards the horizon, then back to Reku, "So, what type of food did you have in mind? In my opinion, the stuff has only gotten better since the Demon War; nearly having an apocalypse really brings out the best in people,"
"You mean your old pal. Haha." Reku said jokingly, but deep down he never considered Big Shot a friend at any point. An ally maybe, but there was no real friendship between the two. At least as far as he was concerned. He felt a guilty pressure of sorts when he heard that Brand had went through tough times for once in his life."Stress and depression huh? Guess what goes around comes around. Er, anyway." He strayed off of the topic of his old "acquaintance" and went back to the subject at hand. "Hm, I don't know. You pick the place. I could eat anything at this point."
