Blood dripping out of several different areas on his body, Tadeo knelt on the ground, seemingly lifeless. As he knelt there, staring up into the sky, as if awaiting his imminent demise, a shadow was cast over him. He looked at the figure in front of him with his almost dead gaze. The figure laughed at him and held up his right hand.
"I guess your father was wrong. You really weren't going to give me a run for my money, anyway. Well, I guess I'll do you a favor and torture you to death right here."
With his other hand, they figure waved goodbye to Tadeo.
"Goodbye, Thaddeus. Tell our old man that I give him my regards."
With that, the figure sent his right hand into Tadeo's gut. He spit up blood as soon as his hand ripped through his skin like paper. Then, the figure started moving his organs around viciously, and laughing all the while. Tadeo screamed in agony, and hoped someone would hear him and save him. After a half of a minute of the figure doing this, though, Tadeo lost all energy to speak. He felt a lukewarm liquid pour out of his stomach and foam out of him mouth, and felt the cold of death rush inside of him. Then, the figure ripped his hand out of Tadeo's body, holding what was probably his heart, and Tadeo fell to the ground, his vision blacking out.
Then he woke up and broke into a cold sweat. He was still outside in the woods. He had forgotten all about the job he was sent on and collapsed from exhaustion. He forgot all about that criminal that he was supposed to capture and hand over to the government. However, that was the least of his worries at the moment. Tadeo was on all fours now, looking straight down at the ground and breathing heavily. The moonlight didn't reach the ground under him enough for him to see, but he knew he was on grass. His muscles became tense as sweat dripped from his forehead to the ground, his torso to his shirt, and his legs through his pants and onto the ground. What Tadeo was feeling wasn't just fear of the dream he just had. He was feeling something greater: rage. Enraged by the fact that, in his dream, he died. Enraged by the fact that, in his dream, he couldn't do anything to stop it. Enraged by the fact that, even in his dreams, he wasn't strong enough to overcome this evil that he had encountered. He knelt there, breathing heavily, sweating immensely, and staring angrily at the ground.
"Who would've thought that I would be that weak? Who would've thought that I would be such a punk, a pushover, and die, just like that!? WHO would've thought!?... WHO would've!?... RAAAAGGHH!"
As he yelled, Tadeo slammed his fist into a tree, breaking it from the point of contact. He breathed heavily as his body trembled with anger. Tadeo tried to calm himself down.
"Control yourself, Thad. Calm down. Just control your anger."
"No! DON'T control your anger!"
Tadeo was surprised that there was someone with him, but he felt like he heard this voice before. He turned around and saw Eryx standing behind him, glaring at him, and obviously opposed to the fact that Tadeo was trying to control his anger.
"Don't calm down and don't control your anger! Don't let your anger subside, because, if you do, you'll never attain the power you need to overcome the obstacle of death."
"What...the fuck...are you talking about?"
"I'm not saying to get angry and be angry all the time. I'm saying to not let yourself calm down. Just this once, subdue to the anger! Subdue to the rage! And get angrier!"
"I don't get it! Why do you want me to get angry? What good is it going to do me now?"
"Dreams have a meaning to them, don't they? Dreams can reflect a conflict that you're dealing with in your life right now and remind you what it is you're fighting against, or what it is you're fighting for. I know exactly what you're dream is telling you, and I know you do, too!"
Eryx was right. They both knew what the dream meant. It meant that Tadeo would die if he didn't become stronger. Tadeo knew that was what the dream was telling him, but he didn't know how to become stronger.
"Thad, just trust me. Let your rage loose!"
Tadeo glared at Eryx, after what he said, in disbelief, and slight amusement.
"Trust you? Trust YOU? WHY am I supposed to trust you when I haven't even known you for so long!? You're a demon! A DEMON! For all I know, you're probably gonna try and do some demonic shit to me, aren't you!? So how the hell am I supposed to trust you!? HOW!?"
"If you don't, then we're both gonna be screwed! I ran away from my home, which was Hell! I ran away! If we don't succeed in our mission, then Demon King is going to be able to track me down and have me end up with a fate worse than death! Worse than Dante's Inferno! Worse than ANYTHING you can imagine! So hurry up and let your rage loose!"
"What good is that gonna do ME!? I don't give a damn about what's gonna happen to you! I only care for myself and the people that care for me! I don't care if you die in Dante's Inferno!"
"Oh, but all too soon, you will care for me! Soon, I will be at the level of 'care' you give for yourself and the others! It's inevitable, Tadeo!"
Tadeo didn't know what to make of this. He was too enraged to care for Eryx, but he didn't know what he meant by this. As Eryx looked in the rage and awe-stricken eyes of Tadeo, he realized what Tadeo was thinking and laughed. As he laughed, Tadeo became more enraged. The darkness around him grew thicker and thicker and thicker and it seemed to block out the moon and all other surroundings from the two of them. Tadeo clenched the fist he used to break the tree. His pupils and irises started to gain a green color inside of them. He clenched his teeth as he stared at the demon in rage. Then, Eryx stopped laughing, smirked, and looked at Tadeo again. His voice was calm for some reason.
"It's only a matter of time."
"SHUT UP!"
Tadeo launched his fist at Eryx's face, sending him flying to the other side of the dark area they were both in. He bounced off the ground a few times before rolling to a halt. A normal living being would've suffered multiple injuries from that one punch. After launching this attack, Tadeo reeled his fist back in and stared down Eryx. His hair now started to become more and more golden. Slowly, Eryx stood up and looked at Tadeo again, this time, getting serious again.
"There are many elements in the universe. Of those elements are the ones that give off light, and the ones that bring darkness. As a demon, I was forged in pure darkness, made to be evil by the hands of fate. As such, I can control the darkness in me, manifest it, and use it as my weapon. Not only that, but I can turn those things touched by light dark again. This power, as incredible as it may be, has a down side, as all powers do. Those touched by the darkness cannot go back to the light alone, and those forged by the darkness can never be one with the light. Furthermore, since demons are dark creatures, we only have evil thoughts, dark intentions, and corrupt motives. However, these intentions and motives aren't directed at your life, as in, I don't want to harm your life. I want to harm another's, for my own benefit. And that certain 'another' just so happens to be a demon, himself."
Tadeo was slightly impressed by this, but he was still angry and full of rage. Nonetheless, he was still a bit confused about what Eryx was referring to, what his motives were. He wanted to know, but he couldn't bring himself to ask, let alone, speak. The darkness around them grew a bit thicker.
"You know you need to get stronger, right? To protect Christel. To avenge your family."
"This has nothing to do with you, Eryx. This is my fight. Why'd you even hang around me?"
"Because we both have something in common."
"Oh really? What might that be?"
"We both need something."
There was a slight pause between Saiyan and Demon.
"You need to get stronger, angry, and you need to redeem yourself. You're angry with yourself already aren't you?"
Tadeo didn't answer. Eryx rose his voice at the Saiyan.
"AREN'T YOU?"
"I'll kill you right now if you don't shut up!"
"Do it if you can! I dare you! But without me, you won't be able to fulfill that desire. Admit it, you already start to resent me!"
The two broke away from each other inside the darkness.
"Why wouldn't I? You're a Demon who thought it would be a nice idea to pair himself with a mortal. A mortal like me."
Tadeo and Eryx paced around the room, not breaking eye contact.
"If anything, it might just be your fault that I'm not able to ascend."
Eryx chuckled after hearing this, shaking his head.
"You're so, so easy to read, Tadeo."
After pausing in both dialogue and action for a very short time, Tadeo and Eryx began to wrestle. The Demon and Saiyan tussled with each other, and all the while, Tadeo's eyes and hair kept starting to change color. Eryx was somewhat pleased with these results, as the started to take shape in Tadeo. The wrestling and CQ fighting match continued for a very short time. None of the combatants exchanged any words, except for punches, knees to the stomach, and grappling. The short brawl ended with Tadeo punching Eryx into the ground. The Saiyan breathed heavily over the downed Demon.
"You're under me, Eryx. You're weaker than me! And you have no right putting your nonexistent nose into my damn business!"
"You're right in that I don't. I just want to. This'll make it more fun for me to take over Hell."
The Demon slowly stood up, staring at Tadeo's rage-filled eyes.
"Tell me what you need."
"Why should I?"
"What'll you lose out of it?"
"What'll I gain?"
"What should you care? You have nothing."
"I have someone important to me I want to protect. This person means a lot to me, and the fact that I can't protect her is killing me and eating away at me. And you have the nerve to tell me I have nothing? I'll avenge my family and protect the person I love while I'm at it if it's the last thing I do!"
"You can't. Not without power."
"Then step aside, Demon. You're the only thing in the way of me getting that power."
"Well, you're half right. And thanks for telling me what you needed. That's quite interesting."
Tadeo stared at Eryx in anger again. The Demon smiled and leaned in closer to him.
"Have your ever told you 'don't fight fire with fire?'"
After Eryx said this, he rose his hand. As he did that, the floor responded to it and threads of darkness started rising from the ground around Tadeo. Tadeo frantically looked around him at the threads of darkness that were moving about him. Then he looked to Eryx again.
"They never said not to fight darkness with darkness, did they? Now, get angry!"
As he said this, he closed his fist. The dark threads became more and more abundant and started flowing around Tadeo. This impressed him some, enough for him to look around at all the threads. But now wasn't the time to do that. Now, he had to make a decision: either get angry, or defy the Demon. Tadeo took himself by surprise when he decided what he was going to do. He closed his eyes and watched as multiple images about the dream he had flashed through his head, and images of the death of his family. Anger started to completely fill every inch in Tadeo's body. The images proceeded more and more and more until Tadeo couldn't take looking at them anymore. He opened his eyes, which had finally become green. Then he yelled into the air. His ki spiked and his hair grew a bit longer, flowing in the air as if he was under water. Then, the dark threads completely enveloped Tadeo. Eryx smiled as he began to be relieved that this went his way.
"Could've been worse. There could've been bloodshed."
Then, he flew straight into the threads that enveloped Tadeo, going through them, and entering Tadeo's body. After this, Tadeo's vision blacked out.
He woke up where he was before, where he was originally when he woke up from his nightmare. Tadeo slowly stood up and noticed that his ki was showing. He looked at his hands and the rest of his body in surprise.
Amazing, isn't it?
Tadeo was surprised. That was not his own thoughts. Something spoke to him in his head, or rather, someone.
"What the hell?"
Relax. It's just me.
"Eryx? What the hell are you doing in my head?"
I possessed you. That's what I'm doing in your head.
"Wait, what? I'm confused. How do I still have control of myself when you possessed me already. It doesn't make any sense."
There's more than one type of possession. There's a full body possession, which I've done to you once before. Then there's a "no effect" sort of possession, which basically means that I'm inside of you and I have absolutely no impression on you. And there's also a mutual possession, which is what I'm doing with you.
"Uhhh, what?"
It's basically you and me sharing the same body, same mind, same power and all that other stuff. We become two of the same person.
"Wouldn't that require for there to be room or something inside me?"
Are you kidding me? There was plenty of room when I got in here. Hate to break it to you, kid, but you're pretty empty headed.
"I can kill myself. Right now."
Hey, hey. Come on. There's no need for that. Anyway, if you don't believe me, there's a lake somewhere around here. It's pretty still and you'll be able to see your reflection in it.
"Which way is it?"
On your three o'clock.
Tadeo looked in that direction and started sprinting. He couldn't believe how fast he was running. It was surely faster than how fast he was before, and this intrigued him. Before he knew it, he arrived at the lake.
There. Now, go to it.
Tadeo did so. He stopped in his tracks mid-air and floated to the side of the lake. He knelt down next to it and looked into the water. There he could see his reflection. He saw his green pupils and slightly longer and completely golden hair. He smiled as he did so.
"Nice. I like this new change."
You're a Super Saiyan now. Fascinating, isn't it?
"Hell yeah! No pun intended."
Now, touch the water.
"Touch the water? Why?"
Just touch the damn water.
Rolling his eyes, Tadeo knelt a little closer to the water and poked it. As the ripples flowed through the water, it changed Tadeo's reflection into Eryx. The reflection of the demon smiled at Tadeo.
"I don't ever wanna do that again."
The reflection moved it's lips as Eryx spoke in Tadeo's head.
Eh. Yes, indeed it may be weird, but it's still pretty cool. Along with this, you've been given abilities of darkness, the abilities of demons. You can now use the darkness and shadows to your advantage and as your weapon.
Tadeo stood up and looked at his body again, flowing with ki.
"Nice."
Tadeo couldn't wait until he tried out his new power. It was making him anxious just thinking about it. Now all he had to do was figure out how to explain it to Christel when he sees her again, which wouldn't be too long, considering that he's headed for their room right now.
I guess being a Demon-Saiyan hyrbid isn't so bad after all. But I'm not letting all this corrupt ability go to waste, or evil. I'm still going to defeat Tuksen and avenge my family, but now I have another thing on my bucket list: overthrow Demon King.
"I guess your father was wrong. You really weren't going to give me a run for my money, anyway. Well, I guess I'll do you a favor and torture you to death right here."
