Getting Acquainted
William simply landed on the planet as he felt the touch of soft ground under his sandals.
Letting the air move through his torso before breathing a small amount of energy around himself, gathering everything he could with little more than a few seconds to spare before a man was starting to get himself stabbed in the near vicinity, a few arcosians that had followed william his trail ending up on the ground itself before closing in rather quickly.
The first few blows were nothing more than mosquito bites as the bandits who were stabbing the man were shocked that he was even attempting to put up a fight.
Letting him brush them off, letting him do his little set of boxer jabs before a sudden creaking sound came as a crack became visible on his arm, a loud thud being heard by the man who was laughing at his blows, with knife in hand, partially happy about his courage but at the same time terrified with the sudden change in force.
Being pushed back into the wall and then put into a state of unconsciousness, William let out a bouldering laugh.
Letting it slowly expand outwards as his voice became more and more heard by those gathering around… Starting to draw attention was just one way of getting more people to notice his attention for a chance to find a tutor as he then showed his experience in dodging by letting the other two close in with their knives, using a small manifestation of energy to parry and block with cuts becoming visible on his body.
Every ‘strong’ impact that took one of the three out having a rough amount of time in between that made it only more and more dangerous to stay around until the men were saved from the vicious stabbing incident.
And that was his day, Simply wandering away after healing the small fellows, William went to relax at the outside borders of the town, far enough to not be of danger of them growing restless because of him but close enough for one of them to close in.
The Test
A few days had passed after William had been making his way around the village while helping with small issues, using his small bursts of strength to help fortify some buildings after a few more crash landings had occurred, nothing was able to be left alone before more and more people requested help.
Not until there was a rather stupid development in the eyes of william himself, surprised that people would be able to trust the man enough to let him learn under a master already.
No, A master? It was moreso a con artist in the eyes of William, requesting a few thousand zenni from the man as he simply sighed and paid it up from what he had earned in the days of working.
Realizing how massively inflated the prices were on one of those far away planets akin to the one he even ruled himself.
Having not used a real monetary system, he counted them one by one as they left his pocket, with a rather painful realization of the requirements to buy even a single piece of bread… Not even questioning the fact that they had managed to make bread at all.
There it was, standing before him, a small, shoddy shack with the emblem of a single letter on the front, one in a language he could not understand, sadly one must admit as it plainly wrote out ‘school of suckers’ on the front, with not even a single soul questioning why he was conning yet another man that had approached.
Some even wanting to scream out to him in their language, yet William walked in with a proud smile as he was faced with a rather interesting challenge at first…
There are three men, dressed in fighter gear with a chubby stomach and a lack of muscles standing before him as he points forwards and screams, it was inaudible over the sound of the first man falling to the ground with a loud scream.
There was nothing coming out of William his mouth, as he just simply puckered his lips and held in the laughter.
Not even using the ability that he had build up on the years, letting him strike with such force was used in that single blow, not even the power to strike the opponent with more than a ray was used, it was a normal, basic blow.
That was honestly it as William cracked his knuckles, trying to suspect a small amount of things before the man would fall on his knees and beg for him to not suspect him of anything.
He has never seen anybody as powerful as him before, especially in this little area were the first comments, something he has heard… Quite often from other warriors their stories, how villains, no, he told him that he was good!, how good guys would compliment their strength.
And sadly, this is how the conning school got their first real student since a few years.
Stepping outside with the small pricing list of requirements that is needed for the training, William was rather excited to see that this training was going places finally.
Truly a master was found who can train his true foundations! How lucky was he!
First Day
William was doing his basic job, simply working and slaving away on the job as he happily made his living on the planet for a few days.
Getting a rather simple test given to him as he was equipped with a bandana and a outfit known to others as the conman’s elite take out unit, having robbed nearly a few hundred people in the city and nearby vicinities already, William was pretty prepared to do anything that his master had planned to get the job done!
Yet there was a certain danger to it all, a unique training method that he had to do every day as he was forced to become faster, stronger, better in general, yet at the same time he only had a single goal in mind.
That was to clear the training and get off the planet, he had to find a way to truly master his training and find a way away, which he did with a single challenge being thrown his way…
He stood there, before his master with a rather fierce look as he spread his arms, encasing the entire area within a thick layer of energy.
Almost as if he was locking out everybody and himself from escaping this area as his hands were slammed down on the table, a fierce look of determination on his face. “I demand to know the information of this special technique you keep talking about! Even if it kills me, let us do this!” were his last few words, looking back at it… These were a pretty stupid set of words to pick as he got what he wanted.
The man, afraid to lose his trusted warrior that was starting to help him expand the ranks that worked under him was starting to stand up for himself.
He wanted to know more, learn more and become stronger, yet at the same time, the man himself, having gotten attached to him felt a strange surge of affection as he nodded going to train with the man just like he required the training himself.
The training was much more than gruesome as the two were laying on the ground, facing into the sunset as the two were laughing happily.
Although the training was nothing more than trying some insane techniques they had failed to learn, there was something better gained from this moment as the two grasped each other's hands.
Holding tightly as the man started to grit his teeth before the scammer simply groaned loudly, shouting into the sky. “I will repay my fucking debts to you!, i have scammed you and everybody that was a test for you!” before William wanted to shout before letting himself take a deep breath before speaking out.
“I kind of knew but refused to believe… You are a bad man y’know…” Before he laughed, he just laughed and laughed.
“Have you heard i can make it rain?” William continued to him, a smile crossing his face, with the man softly nodding, almost painfully. “I noticed.” as he cried.
These tears were not of failure, they were of admittance, feeling a certain sense of sadness for betraying those he held dear before and just seeking out money. “Please separate me from the boss and i will give you your final paycheck… Please.”
The Challenge
According to his master, William knew about the bad guy, he had been one of the draconic beasts that was laying in the north, being hunted by people trying to learn the instant transmission technique from a competent group that traded in the scales of dragons, Yet here he was going to hunt one of the dragons who was slowly trying to put others into the grave with one feet.
A draconic beast who wanted to get ready to conquer the entire planet slowly via a commercial route.
The beast had been laying to rest in the north, in a mountain with guards and minions laying everywhere, a small town being built above its lair as there was even a small amount of warriors that were coming from other planets, calling out his lack of defending his planet with a loud laughter, the man that was his friend simply poking him in the back while mumbling softly. “Come on weakling, follow my orders, we have to visit the boss.”
That was the simple plan, as discussed back at the base, with the two looking at each other while walking down the hallways, the plan was to attend the banquet and eliminate the enemy before anybody would notice it.
A hard plan, a complex plan, unless you were literally invited because of your increase in income for a small promotion.
It was a crumbling point for the man himself as the person assisting william was pondering his choices, wondering if he should abandon the golem for the sake of eternal fame before realizing his snapping mentality, realizing how he had given up on villany finally and is also going to move to the path of good!
Yet the temptation of money still rose silently inside of him as the large hallway with seven other visitors were sitting across a circular table that was shaped like a pie with 1/8th taken out of it for a large head to rest at with multiple scars.
The beast itself was immense, easily filling up this 250 feet tall area with its multiple scars, torn wings and broken fangs showing the hundreds years of experience from fighting its own clans mate as it roared a few unknown words until everybody could hear the words in their mind. “Greetings… New recruit and rising star… “ before a sudden sense of intimidation came over the entire area. “Or should i say… Betrayer.” Before its fierce glare caused everybody to figuratively petrify at the spot, unable to move even a single muscle as the beast slowly breathed a few flames over the area, manipulating them closely to make certain nobody would be able to hide behind anything as the area was scorched clean with the beast locking eyes with the man standing before him, William.
The con-man that had gone good simply shouted towards William to attack him but a firm shake was all he needed to know. “I can’t, he will eliminate me if i move… But at the same time, he won’t just kill me, he knows the price for reading…” as the beast groaned lightly.
There was a desire to fight, there was a desire to kill… But at the same time, the beast had played itself in a corner before slowly curling up its cheeks. “You need to kill one of my kind to learn the technique, or at least take its scales.” were one of the main arguments that was thrown forwards, having seen others leave this planet via that mythical technique.
Yet the dragon then groaned and spoke to the small con-man “You are fired, your village is left alone, i do not care, i simply wish to rule the planet, not eliminate those who supply food and materials to those that work under me or the enemy. Lives are important.”
The con-man, confused simply shouted towards William, Confused in a sense “What the fuck is going on?! Why are you not going to kill him!? Come on! You can win and free us!”
“We are already free, he knows my weakness, i know his weakness, his power is telepathic communication and he scanned my mind for my weakness the moment i entered.”
Which caused the con-man to look blue, before confusion decorated his face, wanting to ask the dragon why he didn’t kill him off that moment instantly.
Yet a soft smirk crossed the beast's face “because i am a small group with huge ideas, i am merely holding the information in my head as i scanned him for information, he has learned his technique and i have learned that his planet is dying because of a group of slowly expanding forces of military.”
Before then a simple answer was given to the warrior known as William. “You are no warrior, you are a disgrace of a warrior, not even a healer, but you make a firm diplomat.” Which was his final answer before he started to slowly walk outside.
Taking a few steps out, letting himself walk up the stairs as the man beside himself looked confused.
Wanting to call out everything and wanting to call this bullshit in the finest regard.
Yet then William spoke up, a soft smile turning into a bouldering laughter as he picked up the small man and ran away into the distance. “You know what his weakness is?” a rumbling becoming audible from underground, the dragon trying to escape as it could read the mind of the golem himself.
“Apparently he just wants to get a child and dress her up like a little child! He is a sucker for adorable children in pretty clothes~!” As a pillar of flame came out of one of the air vents from the nest, pillaring up into the sky as his rage was known, a single thought going through William his mind. “What a fun fellow…”
William simply landed on the planet as he felt the touch of soft ground under his sandals.
